14th Khon Lineage Ngawang Lodoe Rinpoche
Ngawang Lodoe Rinpoche was born in 1977. He is the son of late Khon Kunga Gyaltsen Rinpoche and the 14th Khon lineage holder of Dungkar Choezom Sakya Monastery, Humla Nepal. The monastery was built over 500 years ago by the earlier Sakya Lineage holders.
Coming from a Khon family of long and rich history, Rinpoche entered monastic life at the age of 9. He received his monastic education in Sakya Centre, Dehradun India and completed all his formal study of the traditional rites and rituals of the Sakya tradition. He received high tantric initiations and teachings from His Holiness Sakya Trizin, the late H.E. Chogye Trichen Rinpoche and H.E. Luding Khenchen Rinpoche. He joined the Sakya Institute in Puruwalla, District Himachal Pradesh, India for higher studies in 1994. There he studied the six volume of treatises and successfully completed all the courses over the next 9 years. Upon graduation from Sakya Institute with Loppon degree, which is equivalent to Master Degree, he continued on as a teacher for a number of years.
As a hereditary Lineage holder and the religious teacher in the region he was assigned by His Holiness Sakya Trizin to go back to his monastery to propagate the Buddha Dharma in general and Sakyapa Tradition in particular.
Apart from the said monastery Dungkar Choezom, Rinpoche is also taking care of Pal Sakya Boudha Monastery and a school project at Setianchal, District Doti, Nepal.
